Descriptive history:
The right knee diameter (breadth) is part of the Behnke evaluation. Measurements in BLSA men
were begun in
1960 and in BLSA women in 1978. The right knee diameter is obtained with a Stoelting
anthropometer with the
knee flexed. The right knee diameter is defined with the lateral blade of the anthropometer
resting on the head of
the fibula.
