    Descriptive history:
    The left elbow diameter (breadth) is part of the Behnke evaluation. Measurements in BLSA men were begun in 1960 and in BLSA women in 1978. The left elbow diameter is obtained with a Stoelting anthropometer with the forearm flexed. The left elbow diameter is defined by the epicondyles of the humerus.
