Descriptive history:
The bideltoid diameter is part of the Behnke evaluation. Measurements in BLSA men were
begun in 1960 and in
BLSA women in 1978. The bideltoid diameter is obtained with a standard caliper and is defined
as the maximal
protrusion of the deltoid muscles with the caliper lightly touching the skin.
