    Descriptive history:
    The chin skinfold thickness is measured with a Holtain skinfold caliper. Measurements in BLSA men were begun in 1958 and in BLSA women in 1978. The chin skinfold thickness is indicative of regional adiposity and is used in anthropometric equations to compute total body fat mass.
