    Clarification of data element descriptions:
    Sample 2 is a plasma insulin value. The sample is drawn 10 minutes after the insulin injection.

    Descriptive history:
    The 124 file type contains data from the intravenous insulin tolerance test (IVITT). Regular insulin (0.025U/kg body weight) was injected intravenously nearly instantaneously in the morning after an overnight fast. Plasma glucose concentrations were measured prior to the injection and at ten minute intervals for 60 minutes.

    Frequency of data collection:
    Tests were conducted from June, 1963 to June 17, 1964. A total of 85 men ranging in age from 27 to 89 years were studied.

    No subjects previously diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus.
