Descriptive history:
Triglycerides have been measured continuously since 1959. During this time, different methods
and different
laboratories have provided the triglyceride values. ccx triglyceride' refers to measurements
made at the GRC (see
description of triglyceride -grc' -- file 002, card 1 & true triglyceride' -- file 002, card 4 &
triglyceride-bs' --
file 002, card 2). From 1991 to the present, triglyceride has been measured in plasma using the
Abbott CCX
method.
Other triglyceride measurements (see above) measured in different sample types and with
different methodologies
are not equivalent. The ccx triglyceride' values in this file are entered as is. Longitudinal and
cross-sectional
analyses made over time periods where changes occurred in the methodology require adjustment
to achieve
consistancy (for more information please contact investigators).
